  • What is the "Blood Wrap" option for your arrow and bolt shafts?"
Blood wrapping beneath the vanes allows for hunters to determine what type of shot placement they may have had on an animal. A visual examination of the wrap will assist in analyzing what organs may have been hit. (i.e. Heart, Lung, etc.) Due to additional demand and time constraints, Blood Wrap in White is the only available color choice on builds ordered near or during the hunting season. (generally Sept. through Dec.) Off-season orders may request White, Neon Green, Neon Orange, or Neon Yellow blood wraps.

  • Why do I really have to force my new nocks into the shaft of my arrow?
DO NOT FORCE YOUR NOCK INTO THE ARROW SHAFT!! You should not need to use special tools (hammer, plier, block of wood, table top, etc.) to properly insert a nock into the arrow shaft. DOING SO WILL DAMAGE YOUR ARROW SHAFT AND THE NOCK!! Due to various arrow manufacturers design specifications, slight variations may occur in the inside diameter measurements of a shaft, which may necessitate light polishing for proper fitment of Woody’s Starburst Nocks. If a nock is to snug, a "VERY" light polishing with 160 grit paper or emery cloth will allow a proper fit. Be sure to do this in several steps so there is not to much material removed. The nock should fit snug, but not tight. A proper fitting nock will still allow the nock to be turned with slight effort in order to allow proper alignment of the fletching to the arrow rest.
  • How do I fix a too tight or too loose fitting nock?
Due to various arrow manufacturers design specifications, slight variations may occur in the inside diameter measurements of a shaft, which may necessitate light polishing or O-ring for proper fitment of Woody’s Starburst Nocks. If a nock is to snug, a "VERY" light polishing with 160 grit paper or emery cloth will allow a proper fit. NEVER force a nock into the arrow shaft! If the nock is to loose, an O-ring will provide a secure fit. Many archers have found a simple method to tighten a loose fitting nock is to place a light plastic bag (i.e. grocery bag) over the end of the shaft, insert the nock, then trim excess. This will provide a secure fit and still allow for removal at a later date if necessary.
  • Why does my new SB 4 nock randomly turn on or flicker?
If your nock seems to flicker on occasion or randomly turn on, simply loosen the battery holder ever so slightly. This should solve the problem. The battery holder in our nocks are purposely designed to allow tension adjustment between the switch pin and battery. This allows the user to apply the appropriate positioning (tuning) of the battery to insure ignition regardless of the power applied to the arrow upon release. Light poundage bows may require the battery to be seated slightly deeper than bows with a heavy draw weight.
  • What is the weight of the Woody's Starburst lighted nocks?
    Woody's Starburst Lighted Nocks weigh the following: (Average weight per nock. Slight variations of less than 1 grain may occur) SB 4 New Version .204 Arrow Nocks (X Nock) = 22 grains .244 - .246 Arrow Nocks (S & GT Nock) = 26 grains .300 Crossbow Bolt Nocks (Half-Moon) = 28 grains SB 3 (previous version) .204 Arrow Nocks (X Nock) = 22.6 grains .244 Arrow Nocks (S & GT Nock) = 25.6 grains .300 Crossbow Bolt Nocks (Half-Moon) = 27.2 grains SB 2 (previous version) .204 Nocks = 22 grains .244 Nocks = 24 grains .300 Nocks = 30 grains
